WHAT WE DO
The Tutoring Program is an after school educational enrichment program specifically designed for exceptional students at TMSA. This program is a part of our Individualized Remediation or Acceleration Plan for our students. The program supports the student's daily instruction through the use of on-line study programs. Students often get the opportunity to play games as they learn online. This has proven to be an effective use of technology with a goal of academic excellence in mind. Parents of Students in the Exceptional Education Services Department will receive their student's individualized plan dates from their homeroom teacher.
After School Tutorials
Saturday Academy
The Saturday School Program is an weekend educational enrichment program specifically designed for exceptional students at TMSA. This program is a part of our Individualized Remediation or Acceleration Plan for our students. Each student will receive instruction based on their needs. All Saturday school instruction is Common Core or GPS standard aligned. It also infuses the best practices and instructional strategies from our ongoing professional development series.
Monthly Social Activities
The TMSA Exceptional Education Services department believes in holistic support. Through the efforts of our dynamic room parents, we are able to offer monthly activities that allow the students to have fun in an atmosphere that is comfortable for them. Parents of students in the Exceptional Services Department can find out information on upcoming activites through this website or your monthly newsletters.
Parent Professional Development Workshops
As a part of TMSA's committment to parent support, we offer opportunites for parents to come in and learn about the exceptionality impacting their student. These presentations are delivered in both a one-on-one forum or a group setting. We believe informed parents, make sound decisions that are in the best interest of their student academically. We also promote and encourage parent advocation. The TMSA Exceptional Education Services Department welcomes input from our parents and constantly seeks to strengthen the level and quality of services we deliver.
